Our unique anti-fouling system combines a hydrophobic silicone surface and a non-toxic proprietary oil designed to prevent marine growth from adhering to the marker. 

The oil is released from an internal reservoir over time, ensuring that the marker continues to work effectively even if the marker’s surface develops imperfections over time.

There are a number of reasons you need to apply a sealing bead around KISS markers:

  • To create a watertight seal
  • To protect against environmental contamination
  • To validate 60-year performance guarantee


Without the Biohesive sealing bead, your performance guarantee is not valid.

KISS stands for “Keep It Simple Seal”.

Simply peel off the protective backing cover, stick to your asset then seal with Biohesive 225.

No. We’ve made sure our KISS adhesive system can stand up to whatever you throw at it, including extremes of both hot and cold temperatures.

The KISS adhesive system, inclusive of Biohesive silicone sealant, has been third party tested and proven to perform in temperatures between -40°C and 110°C.

Yes, Biohesive can be used in locations with extremely high temperatures and humidity levels without any issues.

Third party testing has shown that Aquahesive is not damaged or impaired by the pressure, temperatures and environmental factors present in deep water.

Yes, Aquahesive can be used in very hot and very cold temperatures, and in environments with high levels of humidity.

But while it’s being mixed, it needs moderate temperatures (minimum temperature of 10°C) and humidity levels of less than 65%.

Full cure is dependent on environmental conditions, although we recommend 24hours for full cure.

Fixings – Mechanical

Approx. 15 days.  The lead time is longer than standard adhesive items but improvements are possible if needed.

All for our fixings are designed for ease and speed.

In our Learning Centre you will find quick fixings guides and videos to help with everything installation method.

This will vary depending on your specific fittings and application.

Bolted items are usually this is just by hand, no special tool/torque requirement. 

However tensioning guns are provided with strapped markers

Fixings – Retrofit

Yes, Aquasign can be installed post-deployment, including on deepwater applications.

Because ROVs aren’t the most dextrous of installation engineers, retrofitted Aquasigns can’t be installed using our standard KISS method. Instead, we’ll work with you to devise an installation method that works to your exact specification.

This could be a rare earth magnet coupled with our polycarbonate shield. Alternatively, we can supply spring clips and other mechanical fixing options. All our fixings are suited to use in deep water.

There can be many reasons for this, the most common is to replace an incorrect or missing marking on key items of equipment. 

Another may be to identify a specific area for testing or monitoring. 

We have both permanent and removable retrofit solutions to suit every project. 

ere are a couple of options, you can mix the material and apply to the substrate on the surface and then lower the material into position.  Alternatively, the diver can take the pot underwater and apply straight onto the substrate.

A DWG or DFX file means we can transfer straight into our software and cut to your specific requirements.  Don’t worry if you don’t have this available we also offer a design service.

Aquaplate is a term given to a waterjet cut nameplate.  Generally this is coated in an anti-fouling paint scheme.  Read more here
