Personnel safety

When an asset is located in shallow waters, it’s up to divers to go down and take a look – whether that’s for a routine check or because something’s gone wrong.

Traditional signage with no anti-fouling properties can be hard to spot, forcing your diver to spend longer under the water in an attempt to locate the correct component.

Markers partially obscured by marine growth can also be misread, potentially leading to bigger problems when components on manned assets, such as platforms and vessels, are misidentified.

ROV problems

Remote operated vehicles (ROVs) are seriously expensive bits of kit. So when you send an ROV down to carry out maintenance on a deepwater asset, you want it back on the surface as quickly as possible.

Relative dangers
