Benefits
Champion Environ’s subsea marker systems deliver a range of benefits to clients looking for quality marking products offering longevity and added value: -
Superb Anti-fouling Performance
Aquasign® has a hydrophobic surface which makes it extremely difficult for marine organisms to attach. In addition we incorporate proprietary oils into the marker which bleed to the surface, making it extremely slippery, thus preventing fouling from adhering.
Visibility
Aquasign® conforms to NORSOK Standard U-CR-008 (Common requirements for Subsea Colour and Marking) which states:-
"All marks shall be designed to be clearly visible in artificial light from a minimum distance of 5 meters depending upon the particle content in the water".
Environmentally Friendly
Aquasign® does not incorporate any biocidal components. The proprietary oils exuding from the marker are completely non toxic. Aquasign® therefore has no impact on the marine habitat providing an environmentally friendly approach to anti-fouling.
Longevity
Aquasign® has a predicted life span in excess of 50 years, depending on marker thickness, and comes with a guarantee of 30 years.
Damage Tolerance and Pressure
Champion Environ's anti-fouling subsea marker range have excellent damage tolerance. Tests performed on Aquasign® and their accessories show that they can withstand the pressures exerted when a jacket is launched, or when an ROV hits the marker. Additional protection from ROV damage can be achieved by the construction of a frame to Shield™ the marker beside sensitive areas, for instance valves or other subsea controls.
Aquasign® and their accessories have been pressure tested to 10150 psi, the approx equivalent of 7000 metres (23000 feet) water depth. The results showed that there was no effect to the markers anti-fouling properties. There was no deterioration either visually or to the touch of the marker or its accessories.
Temperature
Aquasign® markers are chemically inert, thermally stable and neither flammable nor combustible. Our marker systems are guaranteed between the temperatures of -40°C (-40°F) to +100°C (+212°F).
Aquasign® Altus™ High Visibility
The use of fluorescent dyes means that our Aquasign® Altus™ markers significantly exceed the minimum operation requirements. Aquasign® Altus™ markers are particularly effective in deepwater regions or on equipment where marker size is limited and the markings are operationally critical.
The product is supplied with protective covers that must be removed immediately prior to deployment.
Aquasign® Solis® Non Fade (Patent Pending)
Champion Environ's Aquasign® Solis® range use signal yellow dyes that do not fade when exposed to UV rays.
This marker system can be used where Aquasign® Altus'™ higher visibility is not required. It is the product of choice when fixed to a substrate that it likely to be removed from the water for a period of time during the assets lifespan.
The Solis® system is supplied with protective covers which will keep the surface of the marker clean during storage. These covers can be removed at any time prior to deployment although it is recommended that these remain in place until the marker has been fixed to the substrate.
AquasignPlus™ and ShieldPlus™
Customer’s proprietary electronic identification and tracking solutions can be supported through the integration of either RFID or 2D/3D bar codes.
